"THE KING TREATS HIS PUBLIC LIKE PEASANTS" BY: DR. FOREST LEWIS

LeBron James sat on his throne last night. His throne was a bench, that James warmed the entire night, at the Rochester, New York War Memorial.
James, the Superstar of the Cleveland Cavaliers was dressed to play, but his coach, Mike Brown was true to his word: LeBron would not play in back to back games. Seeing that James had played the night before, Brown had his Star player sit with nine-thousand plus "Paying Customers" and watch the Cavaliers get destroyed by the Toronto Raptors, 103 to 81.
This is not about the score of the game or the sneakers the players wore, or their bling-bling(FANCY GOLD/DIAMOND JEWERLY). This is about a number of poor people who somehow scraped together enough money to take their kids out for the night, in hopes of seeing a future legend of the NBA put on a show. James "Let Down A Lot Of Children Because Of His Selfishness."
LeBron James of all people should know better. He was raised by a single mother. I'm sure there were times that he had to go without. Just like the little kids whose mothers and fathers sacrificed so that their young ones could see "The King." No folks, LeBron James was not Kobe Brayant, born with a "Silver Basketball In His Hands."
Nonetheless, these inner city people got to see a pampered, spoiled brat: who has apparently forgotten where he came from. His coach stated that "LeBron James has played more basketball in the last three years than anyone else."
What the hell does that have to do with James suiting up and giving the fans what they paid their hard earned money for? Personally, I don't care how many games this pampered child has played.
LeBron James wears the number 23. That happens to be Michael Jordans number. Michael would never have let the kids down the way that "Mr. Superstar" did. Those of us who are hard core baseketball fans have watched Michael play hurt; and play with a temperature that could melt a block of ice.
Announcements that James and his Cavaliers would be coming to town started in the summer. Why didn't the NBA have the respect for its fans and announce that "Lunatic Schedule" of Michael Brown's?
No, the NBA couldn't do that. You see, they were in on this from day one. The one thing that David Stern, the Commissioner of the NBA understands is "MONEY."
Stern understands that the arena that James "Sat In" last night would have been virtually empty had it been announced weeks ago, that James would not play.
Whether James likes it or not, he is a role model to millions and millions of young children, both black and white. These kids will not have a chance to replay over and over in their minds an exciting play that James made. They will not be able to tell their children that they saw LeBron perform "LIVE."
LeBron, I thought you were better than that.
